Around Here is a handmade paper diptych created by the 5th grade art classes at Greenvale Park Elementary School, Greenvale Park Art Teacher Ada Leaphart and Jade Hoyer with support from the Minnesota State Arts Board and assistance from Carleton College students and staff. The fifth graders reflected on communal art practices, and made over 200 sheets of handmade paper from post-consumer sources. This paper was then laser-cut into 18,000 squares and assembled into a depiction of the Minnesota landscape.
